Certificate revoked? What it means and how to get your apps back

Symptoms: every app you sideloaded closes instantly on launch, or iOS says *“App” Is No Longer Available* / *Unable to Verify App*. Apps installed from the App Store are unaffected. That's a revoked certificate.

Why Apple revokes certificates

• The certificate was abused (piracy, malware, mass-distribution) and got reported.
• It was an enterprise certificate shared with thousands of devices — Apple's automated systems flag those quickly.
• The developer account behind it was terminated.

UDID-bound developer certificates like lemoncert's are revoked far less often because the profile is only used by a small number of registered devices.

How to confirm

Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and tap the certificate. If it shows Not Verified or the Trust button does nothing, it's revoked. In Feather/KSign/ESign, the certificate status also turns red.

Fix: re-sign with a fresh certificate

1. Under warranty? Open your lemoncert order page and request a re-issue — Cert 60/150/Pro are replaced free during 60/150/300 days. Otherwise Get a certificate.
2. Import the new certificate into your signer app (or reinstall Feather/KSign from your account — it comes pre-loaded).
3. Re-sign each IPA and install it again. Your app data is normally kept when the bundle identifier stays the same.

Can I prevent revocations?

Not entirely — it's Apple's call. What helps: use a UDID-bound developer certificate rather than an enterprise one, don't share your certificate, and avoid apps that abuse Apple services. Some users block Apple's OCSP servers via DNS to keep apps running after a revoke; this is unreliable and breaks new installs, so we don't recommend it.
