How to sideload apps with Feather using a signing certificate

Feather is a free, open-source on-device signer. Give it a certificate and it signs and installs any IPA in seconds, straight from your iPhone. It's our recommended app for most people.

1. Install Feather (the easy way)

Buy a certificate — Get a certificate — then open your lemoncert account, choose Feather under *Signed apps* and tap Install. lemoncert signs Feather with your own certificate and bundles the certificate inside it, so it's already imported when the app opens. Skip to step 3.

2. Install Feather manually (alternative)

If you already have Feather from another source, import the certificate yourself: Settings → Certificates → + (Import), pick cert.mobileprovision, then cert.p12, and type the password from password.txt. Tap Save.

3. Trust the certificate once

Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Trust. Details in How to trust a developer app.

4. Sign and install an IPA

1. In Feather, go to Library → + and import the IPA (from Files, or paste a direct download URL).
2. Tap the app → Sign. Leave the default options unless the app needs tweaks.
3. Tap Install. iOS shows an *Install “App”?* prompt — confirm.
4. The icon appears on the Home Screen. Open it; you're done.

Useful Feather options

• Bundle identifier — change it to install two copies of the same app.
• Inject dylibs / tweaks — Feather can inject tweaks into the IPA before signing.
• Sources — add app repositories to browse IPAs inside Feather.
